When I’m working in a sketchbook I like and am having fun, I hate wasting paper so, I will work and rework pages that are full of doodles only meant to quickly demonstrate a technique. Occasionally, those pages become real exploratory exercises on imagination and improvisation. This was just such a page. Pitt Artist Pens on Clairefontaine Goldline sketchbook. Below are shots of the page as it developed.

Lots of drama and dark thoughts here!? Still…, beautifully executed! I like the paper in this sketchbook too BUT I had the binding completely fall apart on me. See Roz Stendahl’s recent blog post and review at: https://rozwoundup.com/2019/11/review-clairefontaine-watercolor-sketchbook.html?fbclid=IwAR0AFkDOM_YzrXpzEeWtKWQ3hMQMcffjlV_2kusWRONl7EBMmbFD6gLfttw
Hey Paul, thanks for the feedback. I did see the review on Roz’s blog. I work a book pretty hard and have had others loose covers and stretch out the bindings. I liked some things about this book and plan on working in another one so I intend to pay close attention to that. I was also interested in the comments regarding the direction of the fiber as I’m not always the most alert to that. Good info to be on the watch for.
