Well, the Pandemic certainly put the brakes on my life drawing sessions at The Palette & Chisel. So after three years, I strolled back in for a morning and afternoon session. I was greeted by Gretchen, a regular model who was surprised, as were others, to see the old dawg stroll back in.
Well, I couldn’t help myself, I drew the artist tho I did catch Gretchen’s feet and Maureen’s version of her.
Hmmm, similar things happening out west. Good news for us figure-centric types.
Got an email just today from Bainbridge Island WA Museum of Art that they are starting up life drawing sessions again as well.
The earth continues to turn-perhaps not evolving but yes revolving.
OK, I am really curious as to what sort go ‘glasses’ the artist in the striped shirt is wearing? I assume they magnify so the the artist can see features better, but if so, how do they also work for close ups work at the same time? Oh and great sketches by the way!
Thanks, Trudy
Well, let me try again, a bit more clearly this time …I think it is bed time!
OK, I am really curious as to what sort of ‘glasses’ the artist in the striped shirt is wearing? I assume they magnify so that the artist can see details more clearly, but if so, how do they also allow the artist to see work that is much closer on the easel at the same time? Oh and great sketches by the way!
Thanks, Trudy
Hey Trudy, having not used a pair I don’t know how they function. I could be one lens focuses up close, the other at a distance. But I don’t know.
The next time I may ask about them. And thank you for the compliment Trudy. Cheers.
That’s good news Lou. I think your comment about things more likely to revolve than evolve has some merit. Keep drawing!
