I am an artist living and working in Chicago.
This site is where I share the drawings that I do just about every day, mostly from life but with a bit of my fevered imagination thrown in. A lot of what I do is captured in the antique ledger books that I carry around with me, but some of it is done with more traditional materials and some of that work will be for sale through this site soon.
Paintings, prints, and works in other media are available through several galleries listed in my links section at the bottom of each page.
I do frequent artist in residence engagements, lectures, master classes, etc. I also do work on commission.
Please use this contact form to get in touch with me directly. Thanks for visiting the site and I look forward to hearing from you.

Hey there Don.
As always, it is great to see your drawings.
But what if someone wanted to pic up the phone and call you to buy one of your fab drawings?
I think that you might need this….just my opinion.
Cheers!
RW
Hello. I’m in one of Duncan’s printmaking classes at Columbia College, and I wanted to tell you that I really enjoyed your lecture this morning. Thank you for taking the time to talk to us and show your work!
Hi Joycer, the pleasure was mine. It is much more comfortable for me to show and discuss the craft in a compact, intimate group than lecturing to a big audience. I also find that it’s more informal for those attending and much more likely to promote dialogue and the exchange of ideas. I couldn’t have received a warmer welcome from Duncan and y’all; my thanks for the opportunity to come speak with you. I’d say best of luck here, but hard work trumps luck most days in this field. Cheers, Don
Hey Don, Saw yer name on Anchor Graphic’s email. Long time no contact, hope you are well (IN Philly?) I’m now in Denver, only painting for years now, but got an opportunity to hire Steve Campbell to print a lithograph for me; the first print since my residency at Anchor in 2005.
Looks like you are doing great work, and keeping the faith. I’ll always have a fond memory of printing your two Magnolia lithos… they don’t do that type of printing since I left there in 2001..Ramble, ramble. take care, Rick
Mr. Dula! Very good to hear from you. I’ll be winding up my residency at Anchor next week. Been in Chicago for 11 yrs. Still proud as punch of the lithos you pulled for me, and every 4 years some maniac buys the bloody one. I’ll ring soon. Cheers.
Hi Don:
I met you last night at Anchor Graphics — I was the yahoo who got there just as you were finishing your talk, then monopolized your time talking about Milton Caniff, George Wunder, & my personal favorite, Leonard Starr. Anyway, I just wanted to repeat how blown away I was by your work. And I hope we can stay in touch. When you get a chance, check out my work at http://www.shapart.com.
Here’s a link to Leonard Starr, by the way: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.lambiek.net/artists/s/starr_leonard/starr_leonard_annie_1992.jpg&imgrefurl=http://lambiek.net/artists/s/starr_leonard.htm&h=301&w=443&sz=32&tbnid=gIOESvw9jel0HM:&tbnh=86&tbnw=127&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dleonard%2Bstarr&usg=__4x6HLH3ZdTQmkY0FyRCi-aLM724=&ei=RlSJS6GECYTANuOu2KUB&sa=X&oi=image_result&resnum=7&ct=image&ved=0CB0Q9QEwBg
