Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
- Direct the development and/or implementation of compliance-related policies and procedures throughout the plant.
- Verify that all firm and regulatory safety procedures have been documented, implemented and communicated.
- Assess product, compliance or operational risks onsite and work with the corporate EHS team and plant manager as needed to develop risk management strategies.
- Conduct or direct the internal investigation of compliance issues.
- Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed.
- Disseminate written policies and procedures related to compliance activities.
- File appropriate compliance reports with regulatory agencies.
- Keep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends and best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes on the organizational process.
- Develop goals and objectives for area of responsibility that are aligned with those of Corporate EHS.
- Support the development and lead the implementation of plans, actions, and measurements to meet goals.
- Measure and evaluate execution of the plans and work with corporate EHS and plant manager to make appropriate adjustments locally to meet the aligned goals and objectives.
- Gain and maintain knowledge of the existing manufacturing systems, quality systems and
- process control techniques.
- Lead the identification of technical/skills training needs for Manufacturing Operations and/or Maintenance and design and conduct training courses to meet those needs.
- Manage the maintenance of training records in PeopleSoft.
- Liaison with corporate Organizational Development department to ensure alignment of training programs and coordination of internal/external resources to gain economies of scale.
- May supervise staff and be required to define performance expectations and coach and counsel them in the performance of job responsibilities.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required For The Environmental, Health & Safety Supervisor:
- 1 – 3 years of experience in an EHS position preferred.
- Experience in Manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Additional certifications in the EHS field a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
- Proven experience developing strategic plans/tracking measures to improve EHS in areas of responsibility.
- Identifying and resolving operational problems using defined processes, expertise and judgement.
- Execute business plans and achieve goals
- Ability to effectively coach and give performance feedback and when needed provide development opportunities for a team.
- Experience training and developing other professionals.
- Willingness to work in a production-oriented environment with ever changing priorities.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate technical and business decisions.
- Work proactively and effectively with business units and within a manufacturing organization.
- Assist others in the use of statistical methods for business decision making.

Education:
- Four-year college degree required
