Job Description:
A civil, environmental and geotechnical engineering client of Insight Global in the Lawrence, Kansas area is looking for an Engineering Technician to add to their construction materials testing and inspections team. This person will be traveling to job sites across the metro area testing construction materials. On a day to day, this person will be driving to job sites, reading plans, testing materials, and writing reports for each job site. Specifically, they will be testing concrete, soil, and eventually conducting inspections depending on level of experience.
Qualification Must-Have's:
- Education: High school Diploma required, related bachelor's degree is ideal but not required (Engineering Technology, Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science)
- Eager to learn and grow within a civil and geotechnical engineering company.
- Willing to work outside on job sites in the local area
- Valid driver’s license.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
Qualification Plusses:
- Related experience in construction materials testing and/or inspection is highly preferred (2+ years ideally)
- ACI certifications (concrete field testing grade I or similar) or relevant ICC certifications highly preferred, but not required
- Able to read blueprints.
- NICET Certifications
