Title: Legal Assistant - Entry Level

Location: Claremont, California

As an Entry-Level Legal Assistant at Shernoff Bidart Echeverria LLP, you will be an integral part of our team, providing essential support to attorneys and other staff, managing case details, and ensuring seamless legal operations. Your role will be key in supporting the firm’s goals and staff in completing tasks.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in providing backup to the receptionist position by answering phones, greeting guests, and accepting deliveries.
  • Assist the Records Department, including processing and organizing documents, served both electronically and hard copy.
  • Prepare, review, and organize legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, subpoenaed records, and correspondence.
  • Maintain case files, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with legal procedures.
  • Coordinate meetings, hearings, and court dates, managing attorney schedules.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, and other legal professionals in a professional manner.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive legal information with discretion.

 

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Interest in a legal support.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and legal professionals.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with document formatting.
  • Strong proofreading skills to ensure accuracy in legal documents and correspondence.

Compensation:

Salary range between $25.00 - $29.00 hourly may be eligible for additional, discretionary incentive compensation based on individual and the firm’s performance.
