Position: Chief Engineer

Location: Brownstown, MI

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM (times may vary based on business needs)

Compensation: $90,000 – $105,000 annually, based on experience

Position Overview:

The Chief Engineer will oversee all aspects of facility and equipment maintenance, repair, and installation. This includes managing utility systems, implementing preventive maintenance strategies, and supervising day-to-day tasks to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of 5–6 maintenance workers and 1–2 janitorial staff
• Develop, schedule, and execute maintenance plans
• Oversee repair and installation of industrial laundry equipment
• Optimize processes to reduce cost and downtime
• Manage utility systems and overall facility upkeep
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with leadership on equipment needs and capital improvements
• Handle procurement of tools, equipment, and supplies
• Oversee departmental budgeting and employee training

What’s Offered:

• Competitive Salary: $90,000 – $105,000 based on experience

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, OR 2–4 years of related training/experience, OR a combination of education and hands-on experience
• Minimum 5 years of industry experience
• Must have direct experience working with industrial-sized laundry equipment
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical materials, business journals, and regulatory guidelines
