Senior Associate/Associate Director, Global Public Affairs (Energy, Financial Services, TMT), Brussels With over 1,400 team members across 31 offices on three continents, FGS Global is the world’s no. 1 strategic communications consultancy. Our Global Public Affairs experts advise companies and investors regarding the impact of political, policy, and regulatory developments on their businesses and strategic positioning. This includes support for the advocacy of legitimate interests, political due diligence, and media engagement, as well as analysing and advising on the optimal organization of firms' Governmental Relations and Policy function. Our Brussels office serves as the EU hub of FGS Global. We are looking for Senior Associates and Associate Directors to join our Global Public Affairs team to provide an exceptional service to our high-profile corporate and investor clients across sectors and a range of mandates including M&A, reputation-building, and crisis. We are specifically looking for great candidates to join our pan-European (UK and EU-focused) Energy, Financial Services, and Technology, Media & Telecommunications teams (TMT), where you’ll work at the nexus of policy and business in both the UK and across Europe. What tasks can you look forward to? Analysis: deploying effective research techniques to offer relevant, practical, and forward-looking written and oral insights for existing clients and in support of new business opportunities. Relationship building: identifying, mapping, and building effective relationships with key policy, political, and regulatory stakeholders and clients. Policy depth: ensuring you remain at the forefront of your sector’s dynamic policy and regulatory agenda to inform both client advice and engagement strategies. Client account management: serve as a day-to-day contact on client and project accounts, helping to ensure projects are delivered on time and budget. New business: helping identify potential clients across practice areas and geographies as well as assisting with company-specific research to support pitching and business development. What should you bring along? 3 to 6 years of experience in government, parliament, international organisations, regulators, trade associations, political parties, policy-focused public affairs agencies, or strategic advisory firms. Demonstrable interest and experience advising clients on policy, politics, and/or regulation related to the Energy, Financial Services, or TMT sector. Deep knowledge of the EU and/or UK policy-making process (ideally both). Able to build strong relationships; potential to command the confidence of others internally & externally. Willingness and desire to speak directly to policymakers/regulators and those around them, often on your own or with limited senior support. Demonstrated ability to provide crisp, clear, logical analysis in both written and oral forms, adaptable to different audiences. Continuous interest to broaden knowledge and contact base through networking; sharing expertise. Independent, clear, and creative thinking, taking initiatives while going beyond the expected, spotting opportunities and innovation.
