Job Description Description The Social Media Specialist is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring social media strategy under the supervision of the Director of Digital Strategy and Communications to increase brand awareness and enhance the reputation of the College. This position researches and develops new content, as well as curates outside content for the main College accounts in multiple social media platforms; tracks and reports on measurable outcomes against goals; and remains actively upraised of trends and developments in social media, identifying and responding to opportunities. The Specialist works closely and collaboratively with the Marketing Communications team, as well as with College leadership, faculty, staff, students, and alumnae.
Secondarily, this position contributes to the overall content development effort of the Marketing Communications department, writing copy for use across communications channels, including promotional and editorial content for the College website, the Saint Mary's College periodical, as well as other College publications. This is a full-time position.

Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, digital design, journalism, management, or marketing.
- One to three years of professional social media experience.
- Sound technical knowledge of current social media platforms, distribution and tracking tools, and best practices.
- Strong familiarity with social media reporting and analytics.
- Ability to innovate and plan strategically as part of a team, with an ability to work with little supervision in the pursuit of established goals and objectives.
- Familiarity with digital design and content management systems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent time-management skills and the ability to plan and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to develop effective and collaborative working relationships with faculty, staff, media, students, alumnae, and other key constituents.
- Ability to interpret critical higher education topics to a lay audience.
- Ability to maintain continuity of message, tone, and style within established College brand standards.
- Experience and demonstrated ability to develop concepts and write copy for various tactical applications in both persuasive and informative voices.
- Ability to skillfully handle confidential, proprietary, strategic, and other types of sensitive information.
- Ability to effectively and clearly communicate, both orally and in writing, on the telephone and in person.
