Job Description

The Archdiocese of Baltimore is seeking a full-time middle school classroom teacher. Our Middle School teachers have the opportunity to become part of a dynamic school community and would be responsible for instruction in all core subjects in a self-contained classroom.

Essential Functions

• Create and implement lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocesan Course of Study, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge, engage, and inspire students to think confidently and independently
• Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students
• Integrate the use of technology effectively into the curriculum
• Establish reasonable standards for student achievement.
• Observe and assess student progress, record such progress, and share with parents as required by school policy
• Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teachings of the Catholic Church
• Interact effectively and respond to all parent communications in a professional and timely manner
• Participate in faculty meetings, collaborative planning meetings, retreats, school committees, and in-service learning opportunities
• Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration

Position Qualifications

• Degree in Education
• MSDE certification or the ability to obtain certification in one to two years
• Experience in student teaching or classroom teaching at the elementary school level
• Familiarity with a variety of technology tools to enrich and differentiate instruction
• Practicing Catholic preferred
