Got back to Philly for a week and took care of some business while visiting with very dear friends and dining on some excellent food. From the time I first set foot in Philadelphia in 1981, my tastebuds have been treated in the best way possible. That continues on every trip back to Penn & Ben’s town. This trip included a trek to Roxborough plateau where my buddy Dave gave me a sample of honey direct from the hive. A gorgeous day and beautiful morning light let me sit comfortably before the hives and sketch in Pitt Pen and fountain pen a few of his stacks. Brought along just the black and greys for this trip. Made use of my Visconti Rembrandt, Pelikano Jr., Sailor Calligraphy, Pelikan M 215, and Faber-Castell Ambition fountain pens.

Friday nite life drawing session. What better time to see a spot of flesh than in the depths of Winter. Justin is a good model. Very muscular, light produces definitive shadows on him, important at the Palette & Chisel as their extensive use of fluorescent lights blows out dark and dramatic contrasts. He is limber as evidenced by the drawings can hold athletic poses reasonably well. Drawn on a Boorum & Pease ledger book with 3 different fountain pens, a TWSBI 540 medium nib, Faber-Castell Coconut Ambition broad nib, and a Pelikano Junior medium nib, all filled with Noodler’s Ottoman Blue ink. Some additional work done with Pitt Artist Pens.
Glad to see him go, but I’m sure there will be more of the same.
So as our little Pope strolls into the amber light, we wait excitedly to see the fashion distinctions of the next Hoy See. Drawn with reverence in a used Boorum & Pease Co. Â ledger book from 1980 with Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens.
Hey, who needs a soap box when you got a beer and a beach chair?! My pal Bob holding the floor over politics, the financial sector, and bigotry lakeside last summer. I’ve had my share of problems with the computer and this website. Lost some images and posts. So, I’m slowly looking to fill in the gaps. I think some of y’all have found the black squares, yes? This ledger book was fun to draw in as it took fountain pen, ball point, and the Pitt Pens beautifully.
