Join Our Team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

What You’ll Do:

As a COTA, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of our patients. Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering direct occupational therapy under the guidance of an occupational therapist and in line with the physician’s care plan.
• Keeping patients and caregivers informed and engaged with regular updates on their care plan.
• Providing skilled therapy services and treatments to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Observing and reporting on patient conditions to supervisors and physicians as needed.
• Helping clients relieve pain and restore function to achieve their maximum potential.
• Teaching patients and caregivers about the safe use of assistive devices and durable medical equipment.
• Educating families on rehabilitation techniques to support recovery.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
• Planning for client discharges and preparing clear discharge instructions.
• Participating in in-service programs to enhance your skills.
• Adapting to changes and taking on additional tasks as required.
• Upholding ethical standards and ensuring patient confidentiality.
• Documenting clinical notes promptly to maintain continuity of care.
• Completing daily reports and necessary documentation efficiently.
• Maintaining consistent attendance and submitting credentials on time.
• Performing all duties with professionalism and care.

Requirements:

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• A degree from an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
• A current, unrestricted state license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Proficiency in clinical assessments and adherence to policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

We’re looking for candidates who also possess:

• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Attention to detail and effective time management
• A proven ability to build relationships
• Experience in Home Health Therapy and familiarity with OASIS documentation
