Overview

As a Power BI Engineer-W2, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Power BI. Your expertise will contribute to the transformation of raw data into actionable insights, driving strategic decision-making within the organization.

• Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize and analyze complex data sets.
• Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Implement data modeling best practices to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval for analytics purposes.
• Write and optimize DAX queries to extract and manipulate data within Power BI.
• Create and maintain ETL processes to integrate data from various sources into the Power BI environment.
• Troubleshoot and debug Power BI solutions to ensure optimal performance and data accuracy.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization of Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Provide technical expertise and support for Power BI related issues and inquiries.
• Stay updated with the latest Power BI features and functionality to leverage them for improving existing solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging Power BI for business value.
• Document best practices, standards, and guidelines for Power BI development and usage within the organization.
• Participate in the testing and validation of Power BI solutions to ensure reliability and accuracy.
• Contribute to the overall data architecture and data governance initiatives within the organization.
• Train and mentor junior team members on Power BI development and best practices.
• Assist in the evaluation and selection of appropriate tools and technologies for data visualization and analytics.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Power BI Developer or Engineer, with expertise in developing complex Power BI solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and best practices.
• Proficiency in writing and optimizing DAX queries within Power BI for data analysis.
• Experience in designing and implementing ETL processes for data integration.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize Power BI reports and dashboards for performance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with business users and cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to document technical specifications, best practices, and guidelines.
• Knowledge of data governance principles and practices is a plus.
• Certifications in Power BI or related technologies is preferred.
• Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau or QlikView is a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex data challenges.
