Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for assisting in food preparation, ensuring food safety, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Duties:
- Assist in preparing ingredients for cooking, such as chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and measuring ingredients
- Follow recipes and portion guidelines to accurately prepare food items
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and storing food properly
- Assist in menu planning and preparation for catering events or special dietary requirements
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely service
- Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper hygiene practices
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels and notifying management of any shortages or expired products
Skills:
- Previous experience in a food service or restaurant setting preferred
- Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
